Yes. The extension is free to use. You only need a Google account with a YouTube channel to publish Shorts.

Which browsers are supported?

Google Chrome version 116 or newer. It's a Manifest V3 extension that uses Chrome's side panel.

How does YouTube sign-in work?

Sign-in uses Google OAuth on Google's own consent page, which shows an account and channel picker — that's what lets you choose a brand-account channel and not just your personal one. Each connected channel gets its own access token, stored locally in your browser and used only to read that channel's info and upload videos.

Can I upload to more than one channel?

Yes. Connect as many channels as you like and mark one as the default for new uploads. You can switch channel per upload from the upload form, and a Reel you add to the queue keeps the channel it was queued with, so changing the default later never redirects it.

Can I repost anyone's Reel?

The extension works with public Reels, but you should only repost content you own, manage, or have explicit permission to share. You're responsible for complying with Instagram's and YouTube's terms and with copyright law.

Why does it need access to my Instagram session?

To fetch a Reel's media, the extension reads your current Instagram session from your active Instagram tab and, together with the Reel's URL, sends it to a third-party media service (socialdownloader.in) that returns the video. This is described in detail on the Privacy Policy page.

Where is my data stored?

Your connected channels, their access tokens, your settings and your upload history are stored locally in your browser's extension storage. We don't run a server that collects your data, and there's no account to create with us.

Can I upload several Reels at once?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Add multiple Reels to the queue and hit Apply — the extension uploads them one at a time in the background, even with the side panel closed, and notifies you as each finishes.

What happens if an upload fails?

Accepted Answer

Fresh media is fetched at upload time, and a failed upload retries once automatically. If it still fails, you can reupload it manually from the queue.

Will it create duplicate Shorts?

The extension keeps a local history of Reels you've posted to help you avoid accidental duplicates. Duplicate detection is per channel, so the same Reel can still be posted to a different channel. Reposting to the same channel is a separate, explicit action.

How do I report a problem or suggest a feature?

There's a "Contact us" link in the side panel's footer that opens a short form and hands the message to your mail app, with optional technical details attached. You can also email contact@tcmhack.com directly.

How do I remove the extension and my data?

Accepted Answer

Uninstalling the extension removes its locally stored data. You can also revoke its access to your Google account from your Google Account's security settings at any time.
